The invention provides a system for detecting the angular position of a mechanical device. The invention consists in providing the image of a slit of predetermined width on a mirror firmly fixed to said mechanical device and in reflecting the image on a semi conductor receiver comprising an array of photosensitive elements and a charge coupling device, deducing therefrom the angular position of said mechanical device and correcting the reading of the measurement supplied.
