The invention relates to a process for the continuous production of dimensionally accurate curved protective profiles with an angular cross-section from shock-absorbing material, in particular for motor vehicle trim, in which a continuous foam strip is profiled in its axial longitudinal extent on one side in a wedge-shaped manner in any subsequent angular plane and if appropriate on the opposite side centrally by means of a notch and that surface of the foam strip located between the wedges is roughened and the lateral webs of the foam strip are bent upwards to close the wedges and the wedges are welded in the corners, then the web upper edges of the profile thus formed are heated to deformation temperatures and the profile is curved inwardly and an adhesive is applied to the roughened surface.
