Haemoactivator

Haemoactivators are apparatuses for oxygen and/or ozone enrichment of blood as part of autohaemotherapy. The oxygen of an added oxygen carrier is converted to ozone by UV irradiation. This requires a mixing process which is effected by shaking. The previously known apparatuses either mix inadequately or excessively. Inadequate mixing does not lead to ozone enrichment and excessive mixing leads to damage to blood protein. It is proposed that the operating frequency of the shaking movement should roughly correspond to the natural oscillation frequency of the blood solution in the shaking vessel, that the shaking movement be circular and that the UV irradiation take place through the bottom and/or side wall of such a shaking vessel of UV-transparent material.
