COMPRESSING DEVICE FOR THE PICK-UP OF A HARVESTING MACHINE

The harvesting machine has a rotor (7) with radial arms (8) to collect the crop from the ground and deliver it to a screw conveyor (6). The crop is compressed against the rotor (7) by resilient fingers (13) which are U-shaped with a horizontal extension to one of the legs of the U. The end of this extension is rigidly attached to the machine (1). The other end of each finger is attached to a U-shaped frame (11) which has each end mounted on a pivot (12). The downward swing of the frame is limited by a chain (19) attached to a fixed frame (20).
