PURPOSE:To speedily detect the visual defects and inferior of products by masking data from an input part in a prescribed way and comparing an average density in the mask with reference data. CONSTITUTION:A mask circuit 9 applies a mask corresponding to the size of the part of an object in a reference data storage memory 7 to the data from the image input part 2. An averaging device 10 calculates the average density of the data in the mask, and a comparison and decision device 6 decides whether the difference between said density and the reference data in the reference data storage memory 7 lies within a permissible range. The object is inspected due to the output of an output device 8. |
