A brake fluid reservoir for a dual circuit hydraulic brake system is proposed, which comprises two chambers which are separated from one another by a dividing wall and connected to one another by a compensating connection and to the filling and top-up openings of a brake master cylinder by means of two outlets arranged in the base of the reservoir, and a float-operated warning device for displaying the brake fluid level.
<??>In order to ensure correct functioning of the warning device in the event of a leakage both in level and in uphill and downhill running, the float (33) of the warning device (30) is arranged between the inlets (21, 22) of the compensating connection (20) in the middle of the brake fluid reservoir (11).
