PURPOSE:To detect the focus of each of plural provided line sensors by giving a pattern projecting means a pattern arranged slantingly to the direction of at least the line sensor positioned at the center part. CONSTITUTION:This focus detecting device is equipped with the line sensors for focus detection which are arranged at its photodetection part and adjacent to one another almost at right angles, light sources A-C for projecting light upon an object from outside the optical system of a projection lens 100, and the pattern projecting means which is arranged in front of the light sources A-C and give the object contrast so as to facilitate the focus detection by the line sensors. Then, the pattern projecting means has the pattern arranged slantingly to the direction of at least the line sensor at the center part. Consequently, even if the line sensors for focus detection are arrayed longitudinally and laterally, the object light projected slantingly is incident on the line sensor at the center part, so the focus detection by the line sensor is accurately performed. |
