The compressor has a cylindrical outer casing and an annular row of variable-setting blades (26), where each blade has, at an outer radial end, a pivot (30) centered and guided in an orifice of the outer casing. The pivot is connected to an actuating ring (54) by a truncated conical toothed wheel (52), where the actuating ring extends around the casing. The toothed wheel is rotatably connected to the pivot and engaged with a corresponding gear teeth i.e. rack, of the ring.
