The seat has a distributing gear designed so that only one main drive motor is needed to operate the seat's various servo-devices. The latter adjust the seat to accord with both the user and the vehicle. The main motor drives the distributing gear having a stepping gear. The latter moves at least one other gear (37) in steps into drive positions with the various gears (55-58) on output drive shafts (51-54). The stepping gear holds the moved gear in the required position without preventing it rotating. The stepping gear is a Maltese cross gear with specified gears and parts. The distributing gear is small and light.
