A snowplough, which can be attached to a carrier vehicle, comprises at least one ploughshare (1) equipped with a scraping strip (3). The ploughshare is equipped with a lifting device (13), drivable by a hydraulic pump (21), for lifting and lowering the ploughshare. To increase the life of such scraping or clearing strips while retaining operating conditions corresponding to optimum clearing capacities, a pressure-relieving control device for the ploughshare (1) is provided, by which the pressure actual value prevailing opposite to the weight of the ploughshare (1) in a relieving cylinder (13) can be adjusted to the pressure desired value which can be set in the pressure-relieving control device. The lifting cylinder (13) is preferably used as relieving cylinder (13) for this purpose (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
