Apparatus for producing linear movements

A linear drive apparatus is proposed in which a slide is driven in a reciprocating manner on a longitudinal guide between two bearing blocks by means of a drive motor and gearing. The movement of the slide is taken via an output member, held on a slide and led out to one side by a bearing block, and is transmitted to an outer device driven by the output member. The drive apparatus has a backlash-free toothed-belt drive for highly precise and highly dynamic driving of the slide in an alternating, reciprocating manner. A mechanical end stop is provided for each end position of the slide. Acting on the slide is a mechanical resetting device which, if the motor drive torque ceases, moves the slide back in the one or the other direction into a rest position limited by the end stop. The apparatus consists of only a few individual components, which in addition are simple. The apparatus is therefore very inexpensive. To a great extent it is low in inertia and highly dynamic and thereby guarantees high precision.
