Coupling piece for the threaded connection of a water heater to a water-outlet socket of a wall installation, which coupling piece is equipped, at one of its two cylindrical end portions, for plug-in connection to the connection piece, with a connection stub and with grooves running all the way round and intended for receiving seals, there being provided, between this plug-in end portion having the connection stub and the opposite end portion having a thread for detachable screw connection to the water heater, a transition portion serving, with mutually opposite flattenings, for attachment of a tool, and the outside diameter as well as the clear diameter of the transition portion (B) being greater than that of the end portion (A) bearing the plug-in connection stub (8, 9) but less than that of the end portion (C) having a thread (4). <IMAGE>
