PURPOSE:To secure a read of an image and original conveyance in an image reader equipped with a pressing means by forming a member which holds isolation of specific size at least either of platen and the pressing means. CONSTITUTION:A dowel 66 is provided to either of an upper guide 11 for an original and a conveyance surface 4, e.g. upper guide 11 in the breadthwise direction of the original and beyond the original width in order to hold the vertical interval H between the both invariably constant. Thus, the original is prevented from becoming uneven to secure the read of the picture on the original and the conveyance of the original. |
