To improve vandal-resistance on doors to buildings subject to unauthorised tampering, improved measures are taken to conceal parts and fittings of a door assembly from view. The door may be basically of wood having a hard perimeter (2), a rigid hollow spine (3) allowing projecting pivots of floor and ceiling mountings to be inserted and adjusted.
