An air conditioner is provided to connect a duct easily by incorporating a diffuser assembly directing exhaust of air, and being attached and detached at the same time. A cooling type air conditioner comprises a first heat exchanger(140) causing heat exchange between air and refrigerant; a second heat exchanger(146) causing heat exchange between cooling water and refrigerant; a compressor(144), equipped in one side of the second heat exchanger, compressing the refrigerant; a fan assembly(176), equipped in one side of the second heat exchanger, generating stream of air; a motor assembly(180) providing rotation power to the fan assembly; a body consisting of a base frame(130) supporting the first heat exchanger, the second heat exchanger, and the compressor; and a diffuser assembly directing exhaust of air stream by the fan assembly. The diffuser assembly is mounted to be detachably assembled to the upper part of the body.
