PURPOSE:To make the finished width of a corrugated mesh constant by inserting a guide plate of specified shape into a flattened cylindrical metallic mesh and passing the mesh through corrugating rollers through a pair of supporting rollers and tension-giving rollers. CONSTITUTION:An opening at the tip of a metallic mesh (a) stockinet-stitched to a cylindrical form is elongated sideways, and a guide plate 5 is inserted into it. The tip of the mesh (a) is inserted between corrugating rollers 2, 2 and the rollers are started. Then, the mesh (a) is elongated sideways by a blade 52 at the rear end of the guide plate 5 passes round a block 53, and the upper and lower surfaces pass between a pair, left and right, of wheels 54, 54 and a pair of supporting rollers 4, 4. Immediately after, it is held by a pair of thension- giving rollers 3, 3 to prevent reduction of width, and at the same time, it is expanded in the direction of transfer by peripheral speed difference between the pair of rollers 3, 3 and corrugating rollers 2, 2. At the same time, it is fed to a pair of rollers 2, 2 controlled by a tip plate 59 attached obliquely to a through- plate 51 while changing the direction of transfer, and corrugation (b) having shape of connected triangular sections is given. |
