PURPOSE:To prepare a composite heat insulating material having both excellent heat insulating and excellent strength charactreristics, by preparing a block from a heat insulating material having a plurality of grooves whose openings are at the bottom face, filling a synthetic resin liquid composition into the whole grooves upwards from the openings at the bottom face and hardening the resin. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating material 2 is constituted of a block 6 having a plurality of grooves 4 which have their openings 5 at the bottom face of the block and extend upwards. This block 6 is floated on a liquid composition 7 in a tank and then gradually sunk in the liquid composition to supply and fill the liquid composition 7 into the grooves 4 upwards from the openings 5 of the grooves set at the bottom face of the block 6 while air present in the grooves 4 is evacuated from the top of the grooves 4 by substituting the air with the resin. Then, the liquid composition 7 is hardened to set a reinforcing material 3 composed of a required synthetic resin in a required position of the heat insulating material 2, and a composite heat insulating material 1 wherein both materials are combined in a body is thereby obtained. |
