<p>Septum comprises a cup-shaped needle stop member forming a central fluid chamber and having a base and a sidewall with a port and a support surface carrying a self-sealing needle-penetrable member closing the chamber. A fluid flow means communicates with the port and a stop region at the port prevents a needle which has entered the chamber from penetrating the means. The region includes a conduit extending from the port into the chamber which is impenetrable to needles and has openings remote from the penetrable member so that the openings are inaccessible to a needle.</p> |
