PURPOSE:To develop a high-efficiency magnet having high maximum energy product, by using, as rare earth elements, Tb, Nb, and one element among Dy, Gd, and Pr and also by blending the above with B and Fe in a specific ratio in a bond alloy made of rare earth-B-Fe alloy. CONSTITUTION:High-purity electrolytic iron, boron crystals, metal Tb, and Nd, and at least one element among Dy, Gd, and Pr are blended so that they form a composition represented by formula [1] and then melted. [In the formula, (x), (y) and (z) stand for 3.2-7.0, 13-17, and 5.5-12, respectively.] this ingot is crushed so that 3-20mum average grain size is reached, and then epoxy resin is mixed with the above so that it comprises 2wt% and the resulting mixture is press-compacted in a magnetic field of 50KOe at a pressure of 1-3tons/cm<2>. The resulting green compact is heated at 120 deg.C for 2hr to undergo solidification of resin, so that bond magnet can be formed. In this way, a high-efficiency bond magnet easily formed into complicated shape can be obtained with the necessity of heat treatment such as sintering, etc., obviated. |
