PURPOSE:To obtain a copper-containing composition having improved function of a copper compound such as deodorizing power, etc., effective at a small amount of a copper compound to improve the safety and having excellent deodorizing property, fungicidal property and mildewcidal property, by using a copper compound in combination with an oxocarboxylic acid compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective copper-containing composition useful as a raw material for a deodorant, fungicide, mildewcide, etc., is produced by compounding (A) a copper compound such as copper sulfate, copper chloride, etc., which has excellent performance as a deodorant, fungicide, etc., however, many of them are toxic to inhibit the use of a large amount thereof with (B) 0.1-1,000mol, preferably 0.2-100mol of an oxocarboxylic acid compound such as 2-ketoglutaric acid, gluoxylic acid, etc., based on 1mol of copper ion in the component A and, if necessary, (C) water. Since the performance of the component A is remarkably increased by the synergistic effect of the components A and B in the above composition, a remarkably excellent performance can be attained compared with a composition containing only the component A even by decreasing the amount of the component A in the present composition. |
