PURPOSE:To also copy a red color much used next to black in a character or line picture manuscript, by allowing the part corresponding to the picture line part of the manuscript of a thermal film to respond to light energy wherein the direct light of exposure light having a spectral characteristic in a short-medium wavelength region and the reflected light from the background part of the manuscript are superposed thereon. CONSTITUTION:When a flash lamp 1 is allowed to emit light, the light incident to an ink sheet 4 generally has a wavelength of 600nm of less, and the direct light from the flash lamp 1 and the light reflected from a manuscript 5 are incident to an ink layer 4a and the former is equally incident to the entire surface of the ink layer 4a and the latter is incident only to the part corresponding to the background part of the manuscript. When the intensity of the light emitting energy of the flash lamp 1 is set to such a level that the ink layer 4a is melted only by the irradiation of both of the former and the latter, the ink layer is melted only at the part corresponding to the background part of the manuscript to be transferred to a transfer film 3. Therefore, the positive image corresponding to the black and red picture line part of the manuscript is left on the ink sheet 4 and becomes a copy image. In this case, said image becomes a positive image when it is observed from the back surface of a base film. |
