OPTICAL DISPLACEMENT SENSOR HEAD

PURPOSE:To realize an optical displacement sensor head which is smallsized, lightweight and of low-cost by a method wherein a cap which is equipped with the first and second Fresnel micro-lenses is installed so that the cap can cover a base for mounting a lightemitting device and a position detecting element. CONSTITUTION:The light radiated by a light-emitting device 4 irradiates an object 10 to be measured after it is condensed through a projection Fresnel microlens 7 whose focal distance is sufficiently longer than a distance L to be measured. A part of the light which is scattered or reflected in all directions on the surface of the object 10 to be measured is condensed onto a position P which deviates by DELTAL from the center O of a position transducer 5 by means of a light-receiving Fresnel microlens 8. If the position P where the received light is condensed is detected at the position transducer 5, it is possible to determine the distance L on the basis of this position.
