The activity of the rhodium complex, hydroformylation catalyst in a hydroformylation reaction medium was improved by conversion of the alkylsubstituted phosphine by-product to the corresponding phosphine oxide. As a result, after oxygeration treatment, the rhodium hydroformylation catalyst, which catalyic activity had declined to - 30% of that of fresh catalyst, has a catalytic activity of 85%. |
