PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity and durability by incorporating a specified bisazo compd. into the photosensitive layer on the electrically conductive support. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer contg. a bisazo compd. represented by formula I is formed on an electrically conductive support. In the formula I, A is a bivalent aromatic hydrocarbon group or a bivalent heterocyclic group contg. N in the ring. The bivalent aromatic hydrocarbon group may be a bivalent monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon group such as o-phenylene or a bivalent condensed polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon group such as o-naphthylene, perinaphthylene, 1,2-anthraquinonyl or 9,10-phenanthrylene. The bivalent heterocyclic group contg. N in the ring may be a bivalent heterocyclic group such as 3,4-pyrazolediyl or 2,3-pyridinediyl. The resulting electrophotographic sensitive body has superior sensitivity and durability. |
