PURPOSE:To attain the high density magnetic recording by providing tilted faces having a reverse angle at both faces of the boundary of a gap member to a lower magnetic layer at a face opposed to a recording medium and covering the lower magnetic layer and the gap member by an upper magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A lower magnetic pole piece 4 has a slope face 41 having a desired track width and tilted at both ends at an opposed angle less than 90 deg. with respect to the base and a nonmagnetic insulation layer 6 is laminated on the piece 4. Thus, the magnetizing direction at both ends of the information track on a recording medium has an angle opposed to the angle with respect to the magnetization direction at the write track center and the magnetization direction at both ends 15, 16 of the information track is tilted in the opposite direction and the interference at adjacent tracks at the recording/reproduction is decreased. Thus, the adjacent information tracks 17, 18 are provided closely and the high density magnetic recording with a small information track pitch on the recording medium disk is attained. |
