PURPOSE:To provide a titled material which has a high density, less pores and excellent wear resistance by adding 1 or >=2 kinds among La2O3, CeO2 and Sm2O3 further to an essential component contg. TiC and consisting of the balance Al2O3. CONSTITUTION:The oxide of lanthanoid is added further at 1-10wt% to 100wt% essential component consisting of 15-60wt% TiC and the balance Al2O3. The wettability of the Al2O3 and TiC is then improved and the sinterability is improved to decrease the remaining pores so that the material exhibits >=99.95% relative density. The high-density ceramic substrate material for a thin film magnetic head having the excellent wear resistance, less pores and good machinability is thereby easily obtd. |
