The invention relates to a support device for a fishing rod which incorporates the striking function. This support 2 is characterised by a device consisting of a tubular foot 1 containing an elastic tensioning device 20. The support hinges forward, arming the tensioning device, which fulfils the striking function when it is triggered. A secondary outer elastic tensioning device reinforces the device using a lever 3. The device is triggered by a trigger arm 10 sensitive to a slight tension in the fishing line. The trigger arm rests by its end formed into a trigger rod 11 on the crank handle of the fishing reel; the other end is jointed to a trigger mechanism 12 previously held in the ready position by the lever 3. Movement of the crank by a few milimetres, under the effect of a tension in the fishing line, actuates the striking by the fishing rod held on the support. This system is used in particular for set fishing for large fish such as pikeperch and carp as well as for the seaside. It is suitable for release from monitoring when fishing with several rods, and, possibly, it can also be used for absorbing shock from a difficult catch. <IMAGE>
