A stool, consisting of a seat, supported via a supporting spar on a supporting device having a pedestal, and at least one supporting element whose supporting surface is at a distance from the bearing surface of the pedestal in the unloaded state of the stool and forms an additional bearing in the loaded state, is to be improved with regard to its swinging capacity and stability.
<??>This is achieved in that the supporting device comprises a rigid unit and at least two movable parts, the two movable parts each being combined with the rigid unit in such a way as to be pivotable about a horizontally running axis and against a restoring force and each containing at least one extension arm carrying a castor, and that the additional supporting element is attached to the underside of the rigid unit carrying the further extension arms provided with castors (Fig. 1).
