Cutting device, especially on loading trucks, in which each cutter is protected by an overload protection and, in the region of its end located at the front in relation to the conveying direction, is mounted pivotably on a pivot axle and, together with the latter, at the end located at the rear in the conveying direction, is held at a holding point by means of a holding member and is provided, between the pivot axle and holding member, with a transmission part which transmits the movement of the part of the cutter located at the front in relation to the conveying direction to the holding member, and in which cutting device the front end of the cutter is provided, at a distance from the pivot axle, with a recess for a pin, about which the cutter pivots back in the end region, the spring force of the overload protection being used as a restoring force in addition to the restoring force of a restoring spring taking effect via the holding member.
