The invention provides a sealed socket connection, which is secured against shearing forces, on plastic pressure pipes, in the case of which a shearing-prevention ring is provided, irrespective of the configuration and arrangement of the sealing ring of the socket connection, in a cylindrical portion of the socket end in which there is made an annular groove which is open towards the pipe axis and is of rectangular cross-section which is elongated in the axial direction. The shearing-prevention ring has a corresponding cross-section which, however, is, as a whole, inclined in the form of a truncated cone, the shearing-prevention ring exhibiting a plurality of individual, outwardly flexible circumferential portions which are supported, directly and independently of the sealing element, in the circumferential groove of the plug-in end, on the one hand, and in the annular groove of the socket end, on the other hand.
