The invention takes as its departure point a pneumatic vehicle tyre, whose profiled tread exhibits a wear indicator. In order to permit a relatively accurate judgement of the degree of wear of the tread, the invention provides, in the tread, an incision whose side surface forms a comparatively small angle, of approximately 30 to 60 DEG , but preferably of approximately 40 DEG , with respect to the tread. Consequently, the indicating surface of the indicator incision is enlarged.
