A vehicle, especially an armoured howitzer has a turret which has a weapon (which can be elevated) and is supported, such that it can pivot, on a ring mount which is connected to a vehicle body. Working compartments which are connected to one another are formed in the vehicle body and in the turret, a drive unit with auxiliary units and an ammunition store being arranged in the compartment on the body side. The driver is accommodated within the turret, in the region of the front of the vehicle, on a turret platform which extends outside the rotating mount. A body roof, which runs at a distance and separates a storage compartment from the driver's compartment is provided underneath this platform. This storage compartment has a loading opening at the front in an end wall which is connected to the body roof and runs approximately vertically.
