The invention relates to a cylinder lock with flat key, there being provided a multiplicity of spring-loaded tumbler pins which can be actuated by the bit of the key inserted into the keyway, and furthermore at least one bore cooperating with a stop pin being provided on each of the flat sides. To increase safety against attempts to manipulate and/or pick open the lock, it is proposed that the bore (2) passes through the key shank (1) and that the stop pins (3) be dimensioned in length in such a way that the matching position for the rotation of the cylinder plug can be obtained as a result of penetration into the bore. <IMAGE>
