The pot-type core coil is set to the required inductance value before its spring brackets (3) are fitted, with the spring pressure being simulated. In this case, the two pot-type core halves (2) of the pot-type core coil are compressed by a pneumatically operated pressure element and are rubbed against one another. By measuring the inductance before and after the rubbing steps, it is possible to interrupt the process before an excessively high inductance is reached. The number of unusable pot-type core coils is thus reduced. <IMAGE>
