End walls (3) and longitudinal side walls (2) of transformer tanks which are filled with cooling liquid and form a rectangle in horizontal cross-section normally carry heat sinks (4) which are connected to the interior of the tank at least at their upper end and at their lower end in each case. According to the invention, one jutty (5) is in each case provided on the end walls (3) in an extension of the longitudinal side walls (2). This jutty (5) is connected to the interior of the tank and projects out of the end wall (3) just as far as the heat sinks (4) which are carried by it, each of the jutties (5) being fitted with heat sinks (6) in the same way as the respectively adjacent longitudinal side wall (2). In the case of tanks which are designed according to the invention for liquid-cooled transformers, the total cooling area which is available for heat-exchange cooling is greater than that in the case of tanks having the same width and length but having gaps at the corners of the tank which are not used for cooling, so that the design according to the invention makes it possible to achieve a greater rated power than in the case of previously normal transformers. <IMAGE>
