The invention relates to an internally impinged rotary filter drum having individual peripheral filter cells with their filter surfaces facing inwards, which filter cells are connected by lines for filtrate and blow-out air to a control element arranged at the centre of rotation of the drum, and is characterised in that each filter cell is designed in the form of a cassette as a fully functional filter unit per se and is attachably or detachably and thus readily exchangeably arranged with clamping means on the internal wall of the filter drum, each filter cell being designed as a hollow body closed on all sides in the shape of a rectangular sheet-metal box, the filter surface of which is provided with a wall furnished with a multiplicity of perforations and is provided with a grating bottom having a connection branch above for connection to a line leading to the control element.
