Apparatus for the labelling of tape cassettes, with a transport device which conveys the tape cassettes on edge in a straight line essentially in a horizontal direction and to which the tape cassettes can be fed from a supply magazine, and with label-affixing devices which are arranged opposite to and on both sides of the transport device and each of which has radially movable label holders, rotating intermittently about a vertical axis and arranged on a rotary head, with vertical suction faces, which can be fed in succession to a label-feed station, to a preparation station and to a labelling station, characterised in that, in order to affix self-adhesive strip labels (6), each label-affixing device (18, 20) has at least one strip-label feed station (36, 38, 40, 42), to which can be fed strip labels (60) which are stuck to an elongate carrier band (62) made of paper or the like transversely to the direction of advance of the latter and which, in the strip-label feed station, can be transferred onto the suction surfaces of the label holders (30) in a position slightly offset vertically relative to the intended affixing height, with the adhesive surface pointing outwards radially, and in that the preparation station is designed as an alignment station (44, 46, 48, 50) for displacing the strip labels (60), located in the vertically offset position on the label holder (30), into the exact affixing height, the alignment station...
