PURPOSE:To exactly reproduce a color ground original by providing a first process for discriminating whether a given original is a color ground original or not, and a second process for discriminating whether the original which has been discriminated to be other original than the color ground original in the first process is a photographic original or not. CONSTITUTION:An image of an original 1 is scanned by an original illuminating lamp 3 and a first mirror 4, and thereafter, transmits through a second mirror 5, a third mirror 6 and a reducing lens 8 and formed on a CCD 9. Image information which has been converted to an analog electric signal by the CCD 9 is converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 10, and thereafter, inputted to a main controlling circuit 11, and a decision of the original and a determination of an image forming condition are executed in a main controlling circuit 11. In the main controlling circuit 11, a discrimination of the original is executed as to whether the image of the original 1 is a color ground original, a special original, or a photographic original, and thereafter, in accordance with a result of its discrimination, the image forming condition is determined, and in accordance with the determined image forming condition, a set voltage for a lighting voltage regulator 12 and a developing bias regulator 13 is adjusted. |
