A special adjusting device is proposed for the working drum (11) of an axial-piston slant-axle hydraulic control unit (1). The axial-piston slant-axle hydraulic control unit has, in addition to the otherwise normal construction, an eccentrically adjustable working drum (11) and an odd number of working pistons (9). The working drum (11) interacts with a plate cam (17), and can be swivelled together with it by means of an actuating piston (33). The holding and restoring force acting on the latter is provided by a special control device. This consists of a pilot valve (53) that can be controlled by a control device (52), and a special reversing device (54). This can complete a circuit through various breaks, being controlled by the pressure drop existing at the time across the control slots (26, 27) of the plate cam (17). Here at least one pressure chamber is selectively connected to the high-pressure-side control slot to supply a quantity of oil necessary for holding and swivelling the working drum (11). <IMAGE>
