The invention relates to a table, in particular desk, in the cabinet-like understructure of which there is accommodated a piece of equipment which is raised to the level of the table top when required. In order to have available the entire plane table top without interruptions when the piece of equipment is not in use, the table top has an opening, which accommodates a displaceable table-top part (2). This table-top part (2) can be displaced under the table-top part (1) by means of a linkage, so that the plate (8) on which the piece of equipment rests can be raised and inserted into the opening in the table-top part (1). The linkage consists of a rod (5) which accommodates a tension bolt spring and is articulated, at its one end, on a clasp nut (4) displaceable along a threaded spindle (3) and, at its other end, on a bar (6) which is rigidly connected to the table-top part (2). During the displacement under the table-top part (1), the table-top part (2) is guided by means of a journal (22) or the like in rails (7). <IMAGE>
