A fuel injection system is proposed, which serves for the fuel supply of a mixture-compressing, applied-ignition internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system comprises a fuel feed pump (19), which feeds fuel from a fuel tank (20) into a fuel supply line (23) with a fuel feed reservoir (21). A relief line (66), which leads to the intake side of the fuel feed pump (19), is connected to the fuel supply line (23) . A relief valve (67), which opens below a predetermined temperature, is arranged in the relief line (66). The relief valve (67) has a permanent magnet (69), by means of which an armature (71) serving as a movable valve part can be moved in the opening direction of the relief valve (67) against the force of a valve spring (72), the armature (71) being made of a material, the Curie temperature of which approximates to the predetermined temperature above which the relief valve (67) closes. <IMAGE> |
