Front-plug connecting system

The invention describes a front-plug connecting system, the plug assembly of an electrical or electronic control unit having a front panel with an opening for the insertion of the front plug and openings for optical identification of the elements which are located on the plug assembly and indicate the switching state. Connecting elements using different connection technologies can be embedded and locked in the contact chambers of the front-plug housing. The front plug is inserted in a positively locking manner through the opening in the front panel, its connecting elements making contact with the contact elements of the plug assembly. The compact construction of the front-plug housing results in a large number of contact pick-offs with a minimum plug assembly width.
