<p>PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently reactivate deteriorated activated-clay by treating the activated-clay used in the alkylation of phenols with a polar org. solvent such as alcohols and ketones. CONSTITUTION:The activated-clay used in the alkylation of phenols is appropriately mixed with a polar org. solvent, and then the mixture is treated at a temp. above the m.p. of the solvent, or appropriately at 0-200 deg.C. The activated- clay is separated by filtration, etc., and dried to obtain reactivated clay. Alcohols, ketones, ethers, esters, etc., can be exemplified as the polar org. solvent. From 0.2-100pts.wt., or ordinarily 0.5-20pts.wt., polar org. solvent is used with 1pts.wt. activated-clay. Besides, the solvent used in the cleaning treatment is refined by distillation, etc., and can be repeatedly used.</p> |
