Disclosed are a short message processing method and apparatus. The method comprises: when a short message deletion request of a user is received, starting deletion delay; during the deletion delay, determining whether the user views the short message in a short message list; if yes, canceling a short message deletion operation; and if not, completely deleting the short message after the deletion delay expires. By means of the present invention, the problem in the prior art that the operation effect is not good when a short message that is erroneously deleted is recovered by using third-party software is solved; and the operation is simple, there is no risk of leaking private data of a user, the recovery of the short message is ensured, and personalized setting of a user can be satisfied. |
