FIELD: food industry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machines for beverage preparation, more specifically to clamping devices and methods used in automatic machines for beverage preparation. Described is a clamping device of the automatic machine for beverage preparation containing support, cartridge holder for beverage preparation and clamp. Holder can be connected with support and detached from it. Holder can turn about first axis of clamping device between: i) first position, in which the holder can be connected with support or disconnected from it and in which the holder and clamp are spaced apart in the direction of the first axis, and ii) second position, in which the holder is fixed by support and is relatively close from clamp in the direction of the first axis, which results in beverage preparation cartridge retained in the process of holder application is clamped between holder and clamp. Clamping device additionally comprises a pricker for making inlet hole in the cartridge for beverage preparation.
