PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of temperature of a cooling chamber wall by providing an air supply means for forming a heat insulating gas layer between cooling liquid in a cooling chamber provided to surround a cylinder, a combustion chamber wall of the cylinder and a cylinder wall. CONSTITUTION:A liquid supply means 6 connected to the upper, middle and lower portions of a cooling chamber 5 formed in a cylinder 1 is constituted from a liquefier 8 for liquefying gasified medium in the upper portion of cooling chamber 5, a radiator 10 for conducting and cooling a portion of cooling liquid from the liquefier 8 and in the middle portion of cooling chamber 5 and a liquid pump 11 for supplying the cooling liquid to the lower portion of cooling chamber 5. Also, an air supply means 12 for forming a heat insulating gas layer A is provided between the cooling liquid and respective walls 3, 4 and constituted to jet pressurized gas in a tank 18 from plurality of jet nozzles 13 of upper and lower annular pipes 14, 15 disposed on the outer periphery of respective walls 3, 4. Then, the pressure of supplied pressurized gas is controlled by pressure regulating valves 24, 25 according to temperature deviation. |
