The invention relates to: (A) A thermal transfer printing sheet comprising a substrate having a coating comprising either, (i) a dye of the formula: wherein R1 is C5-12-alkyl; R2 is H or C1-12-alkyl; and Rings A & B are optionally substituted in the free positions by non-ionic groups; or (ii) a mixture of at least two dyes of the formula: wherein R3 is H or C1-12-alkyl; R4 is H or C1-4-alkyl; and Rings A & B are optionally substituted in the free positions by non-ionic groups; provided that in at least one component R3 is C5-12-alkyl and in at least one other component R3 is H or C1-4-alkyl; (B) A thermal transfer printing process using the transfer sheets; and (C) The mixture of dyes defined in (A)(ii).
