<p>A catalyst is claimed comprising a platinum component, a tin component and an alkali component, the novelty being that the alkali component consists of 0.05-2.0 wt.% Li and 0.05-3.0 wt.% K, based on the total wt. of the composite. The catalyst pref. also contains 0.2-2.0 wt.% of a gp. IVA element. A method of preparing the catalyst is also claimed. - Pref. the carrier is alumina, the gp. IVA component is In, Ga, or Tl, and the catalyst also contains a halogen component. The amount of Pt component is 0.01-2.0 wt.%. The molar ratio is at least 0.30:1. Pref. the carrier is impregnated with LiCl or LiNO3 and with KCl or KNO3 soln.</p> |
