<p>A lane divider consists of divider modules connected together such that adjacent modules can pivot with respect to each other to form an elongated divider for separating traffic lanes. The lane divider rests directly on the surface of the roadway. To transfer a lane divider from a first lane position to a second lane position, the divider modules are pulled upwardly by means of an elongated S-shaped transfer device. A roller conveyor on the transfer device is inserted into two grooves extending longitudinally along opposed sides of each of the divider modules. The divider modules are caused to be moved along the roller conveyor and the lane divider sections are subsequently deposited in a different lane position.</p> |
