The device has an upper half-shell (21-3) and a lower half-shell (21-4) provided with a fastening surface (22) of a modular interface for pairing of a communication device with the device. The lower half-shell comprises an opening within a slot (21-42) for allowing passage of a magnetic reading head (24), where the slot extends in a longitudinal direction. An electronic circuit board (26) is equipped with the magnetic reading head under the fastening surface such that the electronic circuit board allows avoiding introduction of fraudulence within the device. An independent claim is also included for a method of verifying integrity of construction of an electronic payment device.
